v.a. R.B.F. 1984 8″

R.B.F. 1984 is a weird little 8″ compilation ep with a mix of three chords punk, New Wave and Gothic. Kyah on Side A deliver two simple, snotty, bouncy punk rock songs and one slow, brooding gothic/death rock song. Besides these tracks they released a couple of 7″ and 12″ eps in the mid-eighties. Next are Haidiinatshu with two fun and very lo-fi, almost childlike wave numbers. The Loods on Side B sound like they should have been big in 78; they went on to release a huge number of singles and albums on R.B.F. Records. Last are Phaidia with two death rock songs, recorded live in good quality.

Finally! I‘m happy to find this one at last! :D
Kyah is a band that I love very much, haha, in fact they were the reason why I was originally looking fot this small comp. Here’s the first version of their hit, ‚Pirania BOY‘, with their first singer Sumiko(which sang and played minimalist guitar with 3F=C too). Bouncy punk rock? Indeed.
But the KYAH tracks appeared in their „1983-1986″ comp so I finally got them. Now it’s time to hear the other bands… The Loods, I already know them a bit, but I think this was their first release too…
    Thanks again!
    Fernando :)

P.S. No, I‘m wrong. The LOODS had a couple of previous releases in the same label, RBF.

    Hey Fernando,
are 3F=C and the other releases by The Loods worth checking out, too?
    Take care

    Hey 抗独,

the EP that 3F=C did sounds like something between Young Marble Giants and early TV Personalities, amateurish minimalist punk without drums, which I love and is great for my standards ;) The disc is somewhere in the tube, you may check it there (I‘d post the link here if the system would allow me to).
About the LOODS, don‘t know really, I‘ve only heard like four songs from different records. They‘re OK but nothing very special to my ears. But apparently their label, RBF, loved them, since they made a lot of records there. I‘m thinking that maybe it was THEIR own label, that would explain it, hahaha… I wouldn‘t mind listening to more stuff by them, anyways.

    Fernando :)

    Hey Fernando,
I guess 3F=C are a bit too calm for me, but interesting nevertheless. They reminded me a little bit of a quieter and (much) more controlled Manisch Depressiv.
The other stuff by the Loods I heard was fun, but only okay. Maybe you were right with your guess…

Manisch Depressiv! I was about to mention them in the previous message but I didn‘t because MD are much more aggressive, precisely. They‘re like the HC version of Young Marble Giants, I always thought that. BTW, I absolutely love their EP. If memory serves, their singer came from the legendary TNT… Zuri brännt!
