Moonscape + Unarm – Split Tape

This 2017 split-tape by Tokyoites Moonscape and Unarm is a re-release of their sold-out 7“ from the same year. Moonscape deliver two tracks of twisted and nasty, mid-tempo metallic hardcore, with little Danny Torrance adding the spoken word parts. Unarm, who recently toured Scandinavia and the USA, offer vicious, politically charged raw punk with a little bit less vacuum cleaner on the guitars compared to some of their previous releases.

This is pure insanity! I love it!

S.O.B. – Osaka Mon Amour 7“

Oof, now this is a truly loveless bootleg if I ever saw one: the cover is a low quality black and white xerox, the 7“ has no labels, and the songs had to be pitch corrected so they‘ll at least have the right tempo/pitch. The songs compilation tracks off Last Punk Osaka, Eye Of The Thrash Guerilla and My Meat’s Your Poison, but there’s a couple of numbers missing. Damn. Quality control, where are you?

But since grindcore pioneers S.O.B. are great even in loveless bootleg shape, here it is anyway. Enjoy! I did!

鉄アレイ – I LP

Tetsu Arei’s first album from 1991 is one of the classic albums of Burning Spirits Hardcore. A lot more hard rocking and less thrashing than their peers, Tetsu Arei are still going on strong, with 2014’s „IV“ being my true favourite among their albums. This one here is sadly not an original, but a european bootleg from 2009.

Get it!

The Original Star-Club – Saturday Night Live 1978 8“

This 8“ flexi from 1987 was released as a promotional item, and as you can guess from the title, it contains old live tracks from 1978. I enjoy this one more than their later stuff I‘ve got, even though their -ahem- influences are extremely obvious here. Through the -sometimes charmingly out of tune- guitar wall you can easily make out the Ramones, Heartbreakers, New York Dolls et al, one track also sounds a lot like Anarchy’s Not Satisfied.

I don‘t care about the music, either.
